Rockville,
Maryland - December 19, 2006
With the WiMax era fast approaching, imposing still
more demanding requirements on wireless broadband networks,
Teletronics International, Inc. (Teletronics) announced
today the release of its new TT™X series of wireless
routers/gateways for the unlicensed ISM 2.4/5.8GHz bands.
These flexible, high performance multifunction routers/gateways
are specifically designed for system integrators currently
using the IEEE 802.11 broadband configuration with the
intention of transitioning to WiMax at some future date.
Most noteworthy, the TT™X was designed with the
multi-media gateway in mind. It is a new class of high-performance
NAT firewall routers with specialized QoS to meet the
stringent requirements for delivering multi-media content.
The TT™X system can accommodate the scalability
and security of the customer’s network. It provides
reliable on-demand access for applications with high-quality
streaming media such as video, gaming, IPTV, high-definition
audio and for other real-time applications including
telco-scale VoIP.
The TT™X is robust; constructed with a weather-proof
outdoor enclosure, including surge protection on the
radio, PoE (Power over Ethernet) adaptor, and able to
be embedded into an antenna S.L.A.B.™ (Smart Long-Range
Antenna Bridge) with a designated pointing gain. For
current broadband applications, the system operates
as an efficient high-power IEEE 802.11/a/b/g NAT gateway/router
and can carry single or multiple antennas for point-to-point
and point-to-multipoint broadband transmissions with
a guaranteed 20+ Mbps throughput over a LOS (Line-of-Sight)
link up to 15 miles.
In addition, Teletronics plans to release its NLOS (None
Light-of-Sight) 900MHz industrial graded component version
of TT™X in Q1 2007. Combined with the TT™X-900,
the total TT™X Teletronics’ system solution
menu is versatile enough to cover all pre-WiMax applications
at the present time and is designed to accommodate full
WiMax in the future.
As Teletronics embarks on its third decade of designing,
manufacturing and selling its broadband products, systems
and solutions (longevity is a rare phenomenon for wireless
broadband equipment manufacturers), Dr. Dickson Fang,
the President/CEO stated, “Our survival depends
largely on our ability to stay one step ahead of the
technology trend requiring us to design our products
with more salient features to enable system integrators
to advance, and we price our products very competitively
to secure new opportunities and retain long-term existing
customers.”
Depending on configuration, the TT™X units are
priced from $600 to $1,500 USD.
